So you wanna host. Well that’s cool! That’s what the RPC is all about. Here’s what you need to know.
- You’ll need to arrange moving the gear to your place. 2 tables about 20 chairs and the tub. It all fits in the back of a SUV so most people wont have a problem. If you can’t transport then just contact Tony and he’ll help.
- You’ll be keeping score so be ready with your book and get your chips in stacks. We start with 5000 each and the buy-in is 40 along with a 5 dollar bounty. Its really easy. 12-25’s, 12-100’s, 3-500’s and 2 1000’s and the bounty chip. On the score sheet you’ll put down where the game is being played and who the cashier is. The best thing to do is to keep the book with you throughout the evening. That way when someone goes out you can write it down.
- Bounties. The best way to keep track of the bounties is to just keep them separate from the rest of the money. An envelope is always provided.
- Check here for the blind schedule. Your first break is after 3 rounds of blinds. A host typically provides snacks for the club during the first break which is the RPC social hour. It’s not really an hour long though. It’s as long as it takes but usually 30 minutes is good.
- It’s up to you to call the end of the break. This is the time you will open up the bank for rebuys and the last time rebuys are allowed.
- Pay attention to the blind schedule because the next break will be after 3 more blinds.
- Counting the money. It’s easy too. Just follow these steps.
- Separate the bounties
- Count all the money.
- Multiply 15% times the total. This is the monthly pull for the year end champions. Pull that aside.
- Now just multiply whats left by 50%. This gives you the 1st place prize money.
- Multiply the other half by 60% and pull that aside. That’s 2nd!
- Multiply that same half by 40% and this is 3rd place.
- Put 1st, 2nd, and 3rd into respective envelopes and announce what the prizes are for the evening.
- Clean up and store gear in a safe place until the next host comes to pick it up.
We look forward to playing at your home. Again, it’s what the RPC is about. See you there!
